 About This Role

 

This is an opportunity to work as a Software Engineer in our Land Systems organizations on products such Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV).  Our teams are engaged in multiple cutting edge development programs for defense applications. The strong candidate will possess a broad knowledge base in multiple engineering disciplines and be able to execute in both R&D and production environments. Required experience includes hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation, overseeing technical execution of engineering projects, and successfully working within a collaborative team environment.  A desire to take ownership of design efforts integrating new technology into our vehicles is essential.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support full-life cycle engineering design and development activities on ground vehicle programs.
  • Work cross-functionally with the organization to integrate the entire system including hardware and software.
  • Lead and/or perform requirements analysis, software development, software unit testing, software configuration management, and support system integration & test.
  • Demonstrate technical acumen and problem-solving skills toward the execution of software engineering tasks.
  • Perform review of engineering work products to ensure technically accurate and quality work products.
  • Prepare and present software engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews.
  • Mentor others within the work group, department, and the organization.
  • Proactively manage and mitigate technical risks.
  • Ability to interact daily with program managers, planners, and technicians.
  • Drive tasks to completion independently.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of robotics systems including sensors, actuators, mechanical, algorithms and software systems
  • 3+ years of professional experience in autonomous driving or robotics industry with experience in hardware, software, autonomy, and on-field testing
  • Experience with robotic platform localization, perception, planning, and control
  • Effective writing and presentation skills.
  • Customer interfacing and ability to build relationships.
  • Solving complicated problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in teams and independently with minimal direction.
  • Proficiency in developing in C and C++.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • Proficiency in Matlab and Simulink
  • Position requires up to 25% travel.
