The Role:
The cultural and creative industries is a significant growth sector within Ballarat, supported by a proactive Council approach to nurturing makers, crafters, artists, innovators, entrepreneurs and problem solvers via the implementation of Ballarat’s Creative City Strategy. The City of Ballarat’s Creative City team sits within Economic Growth Unit of the City of Ballarat, in recognition of the vital role a creative city plays in our city’s overall prosperity. Ballarat was designated a UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art in 2019.
The high-impact Creative City team is looking for an experienced full-time arts administrator who understands and enjoys project management. This role offers an exceptionally diverse range of activities including involvement in artist opportunities; creative events; the programming of artist exhibition and residency spaces; sector development; resources and training for creatives; and the management and maintenance of a significant public art collection across the City.
This multi-faceted role stretches across many different creative sectors, including visual arts and crafts, music, theatre and performance, public art and a myriad of other areas. This role is responsible for program delivery and works closely with the Coordinator Creative City, Public Art Officer and Community Arts Officer.
