Job Description

Leap29 are searching for Solar Project Development Manager on behalf of an established Solar Developer and Owner in the Northeast. In this role, you'll take charge of managing the development of utility-scale and community solar projects, overseeing everything from site identification to project completion.

 

Ideal locations: New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania. Other neighbouring states may be considered.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification and evaluation of potential sites for utility-scale and community solar projects in the Northeast.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with landowners, utilities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough feasibility studies, including site assessments, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the permitting process, ensuring prompt acquisition of all necessary approvals and permits.
  • Coordinate project design and engineering activities, collaborating closely with internal and external teams to devise optimal project layouts.
  • Oversee project financing efforts, including securing financing partners and managing financial models.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead interconnection and grid integration efforts, working closely with utility partners and regulatory agencies.
  • Support community engagement and outreach initiatives to raise awareness and encourage participation in projects.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes to inform project development strategies.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on solar.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully developing and delivering utility-scale and community solar projects.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes in the Northeast region.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Genuine passion for sustainability and renewable energy.
