This opportunity offers a base compensation range of 165-240k.

The Director of Pharmacy plans, organizes and manages all the activities of the pharmacy at assigned hospitals. The Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) is distinguished from the Pharmacist by the PIC's responsibility for ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations governing the operation of their respective pharmacy. The PIC is distinguished from the Pharmacist, supervising in that the latter is responsible for planning and directing the work of Public Health pharmacies. The PIC is further distinguished from the Pharmacist, supervising in that the latter has supervisory responsibility for all pharmacy staff, whereas the PIC may provide functional supervision to staff in a single pharmacy. This single class is characterized by its responsibility for managing and coordinating the pharmacy services at assigned hospital and reports to Hospital Administrator.

Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards.
Directs and controls the purchase and inventory maintenance of all pharmaceuticals and related substances, supplies.
Directs and participates in the department’s planning, revenue analysis, budgeting, education, and human resource management activities.
Consults with and advises Administration, Medical staff and hospital staff on quality, regulatory and risk issues within the department of Pharmacy.
Participates in all JCAHO and regulatory body surveys.
Supports and serve as consultant to all medical staff and clinical service personnel on pharmaceutical related issues.

Requirements:

Possession of bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience working as a pharmacist in a hospital setting which included at least one year of supervising pharmacist and pharmacy related personnel.
Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Licentiate in Pharmacy issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
Evidenced by the State of California as Pharmacist in Charge
