Best Phone Interview Advice for Medical Sales Representatives

In the present days the job opportunities in different fields is increasing due to the globalization which is the result of technological developments. Changes are also taking place in the entire system of recruitment than what it was a few years back. Starting from the resume up to the final face-to-face interview a candidate has to undergo many phases before he can be finally selected for the job. In this procedure a new method of selection criteria has been adopted by the companies so that they can easily shortlist the candidates whom they are going to call for direct interview.

Changing System of Interview

Nowadays the ratio between the available jobs and the number of candidates vying for the position has become lopsided event in the field of medical sales representatives so most of the time the companies receive thousands of resumes for one post and it becomes very difficult for them to choose the best ten to fifteen candidates. So most of the companies have developed a system where they depute the hiring manager to conduct a phone interview with the persons whose resumes they have selected for the post in the company.

If you have applied for the medical sales representative post in a big and reputed company then you may have to go through two or three phases of phone interviews before being called for the direct face-to-face interview with the interview board of the company. In the first phase the human resource Department will conduct the phone interview with the selected candidates and eliminate those candidates who are not able to satisfy them on the phone. The second round is passed on to the hiring manager who eliminates few more candidates.

Preparation for the Phone Interview

It is very important to know the method of facing the phone interview and being able to be short listed for the direct and final interview. If you are expecting a phone call from the company where you have applied for the job then you should make all the necessary preparations like checking the phone connection so that the conversation is not disrupted, use of the headset so that you can be free to take down all the notes, doing away with all the distractive elements in the room and keeping a quiet environment and sitting in a straight and alert position during the interview.

Most of the time the hiring manager will fix an appointment for the phone interview and at that time you should always choose the time when you are free and can concentrate on the questions that are being asked and be ready with all the information that you have to supply to the interviewer. Always try to be in front of the computer during the interview and keep the computer on so that you can easily open any site if you are asked to do so but do not be distracted by surfing the net or going through your e-mail during the interview.

Jobseekers New Tool

Thanks to better technology, more companies and people are conducting job interviews and screening via video.
The good news about this new media is that it can provide a quick and easy platform to introduce yourself and sell your strengths, experience and personality to others before ever meeting face to face.

Now don’t get me wrong, the personal face to face interview will still be the way that employers hire. Video interviewing basically offers a stage allowing you to get your foot in the door.

An important rule is “don’t forget that people are evaluating you” so be prepared and ready.

Always dress the part based on the type of job you’re looking for, it never hurts to be safe and wear the proper business attire. First impressions are always very important.
